Who I Am
I’ve spent the last 20 years as an obsessive collector of myths and legends — not a credentialed folklorist, just someone who never grew out of the phase where library books about monsters and gods were more interesting than anything else on the shelf. My reading spans comparative mythology, cultural anthropology, and folklore — self-taught, entirely for the love of it — and that curiosity has taken me from library archives to remote villages in Greece, Japan, West Africa, and Scandinavia, where oral traditions are still very much alive. I’ve pored over crumbling manuscripts, sat with local storytellers, and cross-referenced ancient texts across dozens of traditions, all on my own time and my own dime. Mythology isn’t just my subject. It is, honestly, my entire world.
Why I Started This Site
For years, I watched mythology get reduced to glossy blockbusters and oversimplified listicles that stripped away all the texture and meaning that make these stories extraordinary. The real myths — the ones whispered across generations, the ones that explain grief and creation and the terrifying unknown — deserve better than that.
